Our family spent a few days at Eagle’s Nest and throughly enjoyed every feature of it! We tromped through the timber, built a snowman, swam at owner’s club, sled at the golf course. And that was during the day! In the evenings we played poker, ping pong, pool, air-hockey, and foosball! The kitchen was well equipped, the furnishings were lovely, and the beds very comfortable. We left hoping to come back again!
We had a group of 16 friends attending a wedding at Ashton Farms and this place could not have been more perfect for our weekend!! The location was perfect, only about 5 minutes from the wedding venue and about 10 from downtown Galena! It had anything you may need for a weekend get away with friends! I highly recommend this place if you are looking for a house for a large group!
Amazing place to stay with a large group of people. You can tell the owners love what they do they really have thought of everything. Everyone who stayed with us couldn’t stop talking about how perfect it was. So much space and a very private place to stay.
Eagles Nest Thanksgiving
Beautiful place for our Thanksgiving with our family! The pictures don’t do it justice! Themed bedrooms, gorgeous bathrooms, the best equipped kitchen I have ever been in and a very private, beautiful wooded setting complete with walking trails, hot tub and outdoor fire pit! Nothing was spared for comfort right down to the linens and comfortable beds and every type of serving piece you could imagine for our feast! Immaculate, cozy, well appointed and everything we needed for a family getaway! Fantastic place!!!

My siblings and spouses (we have a big family) needed to find a place big enough for all of us to each have our own bedroom and bathroom. WHAT A FIND! The Eagle’s Nest was very easy to get to and had everything we needed to get together for our family reunion. It also had more than enough space for people to have their privacy as well. Every where we looked, there was plenty of space and seating inside and out for everyone to enjoy! We stayed 3 nights and there wasn’t enough time to really even truly enjoy all that the house had to offer. The whole downstairs is filled with fun games for adults, as well as kids, and also a big TV for the guys to watch, not to mention each bedroom has a TV in it. The kitchen had lots of seating for our group and the kitchen was stocked with everything that we could think of! Not to mention 2 large refrigerators upstairs in the kitchen and one full size kitchen downstairs in the bar area. And the ice machine came in so handy! Wow!! Bill and Sue were very accommodating for us and answered every question that we had for them in a very timely manner. We can’t say enough good things about this place and we will definitely come back! Thanks Bill and Sue for making our reunion a great one!!!
Birthday celebration
This house suited our needs perfectly. It is an outstanding home with every amenity imaginable. There were 14 adults and 2 small children and we had perfect accommodations for everyone. We also enjoyed using the hot tub.
Best vacation house ever!
I rarely write reviews but this one most definitely deserves it! This home has it all and is pristine! The kitchen and bar were so well stocked…everything we needed was there. The living space is HUGE and and there are plenty of tables for a big group to eat meals. The bedrooms (each with a private bath) were excellent! Comfy beds and nice linens. The lower level is fabulous with so much to do…pool table, ping pong table, air hockey and more! Even the grill was spectacular! We are very picky but this place was perfect. And so clean! The Galena Territory is so beautiful…doesn’t feel like Illinois at all! So hilly and serene. Communication with the owners was fabulous…they are very responsive. We were there with our extended family…20 people…and everyone was amazed with the accommodations! If you are thinking about this place…think no further, Just book it! We will definitely be back!
Perfect family getaway
House and grounds were beautiful, spacious, and extremely clean. Everyone from adult children to young grandchildren loved the lower floor with all the game tables! We use VRBO every year for our family trip. We’ve been doing this for 27 years so that’s a lot of houses. Our 9 year old grandson said this was the best house ever!!! Thank you, Bill and Susan, for sharing your home with us. Our family left with so many wonderful memories.
Perfect!
Wonderful home with plenty of room for everyone. Each bedroom having a separate bath was so convenient. The kids (and adults) made good use of the game room and the outside sand volleyball court, firepit and hot tub. We could not have asked for a nicer stay!
