Our family just enjoyed a wonderful stay at the Eagle’s Nest… three days of fun, nature and a beautiful home. It is abundantly roomy, with a completely equipped kitchen and in-room bath for each of the 8 bedrooms. There is a gigantic basement with games for youth. The massive decking system is available to all bedrooms. Our kids loved the hot tub and all the nooks in crannies for an outdoor Easter egg hunt. There is a nice blacktop drive for parking and bike riding!! I would recommend this home for any occasion. Thanks for the memories!!!

My family and I had a fantastic time at Bill and Sue’s retreat house in Galena, IL. The Eagle’s Nest is a perfect destination for a family reunion or executive retreat. The space is amazing. The bedrooms are beautifully appointed and very comfortable. The bathroom design is well done. We had family dinners both nights and the kitchen was perfectly equipped to accommodate our large group. The seating options were great for our varied age groups. We enjoyed the fire pit, hot tub and volley ball court. Spring is a lovely time to visit. The golf, horseback riding and hiking was wonderful. There is an activity for all age groups. We will definitely be back for future stays at the Eagle’s Nest. Thank you Bill and Sue

Corporate Retreat

  • 5 of 5

We hosted an off-site corporate team-building retreat for 10 people at Eagle’s Nest over the course of three days in March 2017. Bill was very quick to answer any questions I had prior to the stay, and the amenities made the stay that much better. Our team loved all the games available, and took advantage of the outdoor fire pit. We will keep this on our list for off-site retreats!

Galena stay at the Eagle’s Nest – Annual Family Reunion

  • 5 of 5

For the 2nd year in a row our family stayed at Eagle’s Nest for our annual Galena Ski Trip and Family-Get-Together/Reunion. The 60 degree weather was the exact opposite from the below zero weather of 2016, but it just gave us more to enjoy at the Eagle’s Nest.

Our large family consisting of babies, toddlers, teens, parents and grandparents enjoyed ALL of the amenities this time around. Playing in the woods behind the house and hiking the surrounding trails was a particularly fun family activity that all were able to participate in together. The younger kids enjoyed playing in the woods behind the house and enjoyed a bond-fire with s’mores and spooky ghost story-telling in the evenings. The weather allowed us to use the sand volleyball court and the hot tub was a favorite as well. For those less adventurous family members, sitting on the beautiful porch that spans the entire length of the back of the Eagle’s Nest while enjoying the scenery and watching the family having so much fun was more than enough!

The best part of the Eagle’s Nest is that it allows our large family to share one roof with the spacious accommodations. Even more important – our family so enjoys sharing meals together and the spacious kitchen and common living area (dining room, living room, and outdoor space) allows us to cook and share a meal together in one large space.

While most of us are from Chicago and the Northwest suburbs of Illinois, Eagle’s Nest has become such a favorite with our family that family members from as far as New York and California came with us to visit and enjoy the Eagle’s Nest this year!

The Eagle’s Nest is such a great space and we created such wonderful family memories there which we hope to continue on every year.

No matter what season, if you are looking for a large space for a family reunion, team-building or corporate event, or just need a getaway weekend with friends, I highly recommend the Eagle’s Nest!

Here’s a quick video of our memorable stay along with skiing at Chestnut mountain:

A wonderful facility designed to accommodate a business group, a golf get-away or a family gathering

  • 5 of 5

Eagle’s Nest is a great place to hold any function that is looking to give people first class accommodations while allowing a great deal of interaction and common area. The facility is professionally run by Bill and Sue Hubbard, and they work hard to personalize the facility to meet your needs. I was impressed by the quality of home’s construction and all of the furnishings within are high end, sturdy, and comfortable. The facility is clean and well kept, reflecting the care and attention to detail Sue and Bill. As we consider our future meeting requirements, Eagle’s Nest will remain high on our list.

Thank you to Bill and Sue for all of your efforts.

Tons of space, beautiful scenery everywhere, and every imaginable amenity. The house is fully staffed and the decor is just awesome! Thank you Bill and Sue! You will now see us twice a year if my boys have their way…..-:)

Venue for a family reunion of 8 siblings and spouses.

  • 5 of 5

Several months ago we began a venue search for our family reunion of 8 siblings and spouses (ages 56 to 72). We were excited when we found the Eagle’s Nest and were able to reserve it for our week together especially after having seen their you-tube video of the property. I’m not able to describe the reaction we each had upon our arrival. It was like walking into a magnificent home only seen in the movies – could this really be where we will be staying for the seven days? It was everything we had imagined and much, much more! It was the perfect venue for our family to talk, play games, prepare home cooked meals , relax, reminisce and build more memories. Over-sized sofas on the main level, a crackling fire and the forest-like view from the huge windows made for a perfect setting to visit, nap, sing songs or just quietly enjoy the peaceful ambiance. The hot tub and picturesque outside area provided additional space for more activities. I highly recommend this property for any group that wants to spend quality time together.
